I lived right by the Gowanus Canal, now a designated Superfund site, in Brooklyn, New York for years. I wandered through the industrial and post-industrial landscape, with a Hasselblad and film. It's an artist's world now. One day there will be luxury condos here. But for a moment, it was a wild, weird and semi-abandoned.
