The Minnesota United FC defeated the Chicago Fire 2-1 in the soccer season opener at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on March 17, 2018. Organized groups were among the fans who showed up to cheer on both sides.

Minnesota player Francisco Calvo (5, captain) lines up with young kids who escorted them onto the field at the start of the game (they are the children of Target employees, a benefit of the company's sponsorship of the team).
