Pandian Adhaven, center, a fisherman, helps other local fishermen fix the engine of his fishing boat in a workshop set up by villagers and a volunteer from AID India in Perumalpettai, a fishing village in Tamil Nadu, India, on January 15, 2005. The area was struck by the Indian Ocean Tsunami on December 26, 2004, killing 37 of the villagers and destroying nearly all of their fishing boats. Generated by an earthquake on the ocean floor, the tsunami devastated the fishing industry along the southeastern coast of India.
