Roger Hanson, of Big Lake, Minnesota, has been building the Lake Superior Ice Project in Superior, Wisconsin for several months, living in an RV nearby from which he operates the computerized command center he created to make the structure. Today, the four-tier, 66' structure fell to the ground.

Here is the border of the sculpture site set up for safety (barriers) in the foreground and cones that indicate the line of the sump pump set up to draw water up from Lake Superior to form the sculpture.
