Liz Zorn, 26, from Chicago and of the Women's division team Bigger, Redder, Older & Colder (comprised of former Cornell University graduates who live in various placed) does the traditional pond hockey duty of shoveling the previous game's shaved ice to prepare the surface for play during the 10th annual U.S. Pond Hockey Championships at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis, Minnesota on January 16, 2015. The tournament's top prize is a "Golden Shovel" in honor of the tradition.
This year, conflicting groups in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan are putting on events which are all billed as U.S. national pond hockey championships.
