Mourner Anne Victor, 24, holds up a charm listing the date of her 1995 middle school anniversary with Sean Bell, as she leaves his wake at the Community Church of Christ in Queens, New York on December 1, 2006. They dated when they were 8th grade students at Parsons 168 public school in New York City and he gave her this gift. Bell, 23, was killed in a hail of 50 bullets by New York City police officers in the early morning of November 25, 2006 leaving his bachelor party at Club Kalua in Queens, just hours before he as scheduled to marry in the church where his funeral was held.
