Roger Hanson, of Big Lake, Minnesota, has been building the Lake Superior Ice Project in Superior, Wisconsin for several months, living in an RV nearby from which he operates the computerized command center he created to make the structure. Today, the four-tier, 66' structure fell to the ground.

Here is a detail of the spray boom and weather station spraying water on the sculpture before it fell.
